Knowing the basics of music is a very important quality that everybody should have. It is beautiful language that will always be with us. We can find the music we like most: it is the soundtrack of our life. It could be as well a way to express ourself: 'When words leave off, music begins' - H. Heine.

Francesca is a young harp teacher, with a classical training. She teaches teenage boys and girls and adults. She can help people who want to learn a new instrument, those wanting to join in little ensemble, those just wanting help with their technique, others who want to learn something about playing the harp for enjoyment and those who want to find out if they can play at all! 

Francesca would be very happy to help children, normally older then 6, to enjoy music and the instrument in many different ways. The lesson will include the development of their confidence through Dalcroze exercise (if they are confident with their body, they will be confident with their playing), then building up their technique through little pieces of music - in order to avoid to get bored with exercises. Music will be given to the student and together with the teacher, they will find the better way to learn that piece: everybody has a different way of practicing. At the end of the year, the students will perform the pieces prepared in a concert: it is an important objective for the child. Getting used to play in front of other people can be useful in our daily life. She helped many students at Trinity Laban Junior Department working together with Gabriella Dall'Olio.

Conoscere le fondamenta della musica è un'importante qualità che tutti dovrebbero possedere. É un meraviglioso linguaggio che rimarrà sempre con noi. Possiamo trovare la musica che più amiamo: è la colonna sonora della nostra vita. Può essere inoltre un modo per esprimere la nostra personalità: 'Dove le parole finiscono, inizia la musica' - H. Heine.

Francesca é una giovane insegnante di arpa, con una preparazione classica. Impartisce lezioni a giovani ragazzi e ragazze e adulti. Può aiutare coloro che vogliono imparare un nuovo strumento, coloro che hanno piacere di suonare in piccoli ensemble, chi vuole solo un aiuto nel rafforzare la tecnica, altri che preferiscono imparare qualcosa sull'arpa per divertimento.

Francesca sarebbe molto felice nell'introdurre bambini, normalmente di età superiore ai 6 anni, alla musica e far apprezzare loro lo strumento in diversi modi.

La lezione include lo sviluppo della fiducia in loro stessi attraverso esercizi della tecnica Dalcroze (se hanno fiducia nel loro corpo, avranno fiducia nel loro modo di suonare), la creazione di una solida tecnica attraverso brevi brani. Della musica verranno assegnata agli studenti e, assieme all'insegnante, si troverà la migliore via per imparare il brano dato: tutti hanno un diverso modo di apprendere. Alla fine dell'anno, gli studenti si esibiranno in un concerto: è un importante obiettivo per gli studenti; abituarsi a suonare per altre persone e in pubblico può rivelarsi utile anche nella vita quotidiana.

Funeral - Funerale

Many people ask for specific pieces of music to be played during the funeral service. It is an opportunity to add a personal touch:  decisions may be influenced by many factors, such as family tradition, religion or the wishes of the person who has died. The music chosen can be anything from traditional organ music to something more modern supplied by you. 

Music is always a personal way to say 'Goodbye'.

Biography - Biografia

Concert 2001

My name is Francesca and I began my harp study with Madre Maria Belinda Church, at the age of 6. At that age, I didn't know how important music is, but afterwards it started being a huge part of my life. 

In 2005 I attended harp classes at Conservatoire "Luca Marenzio" of Brescia with Anna Loro and in 2011, graduated with distinction. In the same years I attended Music High School in Brescia at "Liceo Veronica Gambara". I'm currently studying for an Mmus in harp performance with Gabriella dall'Olio at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and I'm so grateful to the Leverhulme Orchestra Mentorship, Wood House Bursary Found, Post-Graduate Bursary for enabling me to receive the scholarship. 

I enjoyed the TL life-style so much that I applied for being a Student Ambassador: we participate to many events as steward - Early Music Festival Royal Greenwich String Quartet Festival - and we met the Chairman of Trinity Laban Board of Governors Lord Lipsey and his collegue Baroness Golding.

During the last years I have been playing in different private and public events in Italy including concerts with Borgosatollo Wind Orchestra, Salò "Orchestra di fiati", 'La verdi Junior' Orchestra. Since September 2012, have been playing in the Old Royal Naval Chapel, St. Alfege, Morden College Chapel. St. John's Smith Square, Southwark Cathedral, The Salvation Army - Regent Hall, Holywell Showroom. In October 2012 Trinity Laban harp department took part at the John Cage event 'Out of the Cage'  playing 'Postcard from Heaven' for 12 harps. In 2008 and 2009 won the second prize "Concorso Giovani Talenti, San Bartolomeo a Mare" and in 2010 won the first prize "Concorso Internazionale Marcel Tournier". 

Regularly I attend masterclass with Anna Loro, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche, Letizia Belmondo, Cristina Ghidotti, Gabriella dall'Olio, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Alice Giles, Sylvain Blassel, Jeffrey Dyball, Patrizia Tassini, Lucy Wakeford. 

As part of her Mentor Scheme, I met and worked with Rachel Master, LPO Principal Harpist.

Student Ambassadors

Mi chiamo Francesca e ho cominciato lo studio dell'arpa con Madre Maria Belinda  Church all'età di sei anni. Non sapevo quanto fosse importante la musica a quell'età e successivamente divenne parte fondamentale della mia vita.

Nel 2005 mi iscrissi al Conservatorio "Luca Marenzio" di Brescia, frequentando lezioni con Anna Loro, titolare della cattedra di arpa; nel settembre 2011 ho ottenuto il diploma con il massimo dei voti. Contemporaneamente ho frequentato il Liceo Musicale "Veronica Gambara" di Brescia. 

Attualmente studio per un Master in "harp performance" con l'insegnante Gabriella Dall'Olio a Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance e sono davvero grata a "Leverhulme Orchestra Mentorship", "Wood House Bursary Found", "Post-Graduate Bursary" per avermi sostenuta economicamente tramite borsa di studio. Ho apprezzato molto la vita all'interno di TL, al punto da iscrivermi per diventare "Student Ambassador": abbiamo partecipato a diversi eventi in qualità di steward - Early Music Festival, Royal Greenwich String Quartet Festival - e abbiamo incontrato in "House of Lords" il Governatore Lord Lipsey e la sua collega, Baronessa Golding. 

Negli ultimi anni ho suonato in differenti eventi privati e pubblici in Italia, includendo concerti con Banda cittadina di Borgosatollo, Orchestra di Fiati di Salò, Orchestra 'La Verdi Junior'. A partire da settembre 2012, ho partecipato a concerti in qualità di solista, in formazione cameristica e con diverse orchestre a Old Royal Naval Chapel, St. Alfege, Morden College Chapel. St. John's Smith Square, Southwark Cathedral, The Salvation Army - Regent Hall, Holywell Showroom. In Ottobre 2012 il dipartimento di arpa di Trinity Laban ha preso parte ad un evento in memoria di John Cage "Out of the Cage" suonando composizioni quali "Postcard from Heaven" per 12 arpe. Nel 2008 e 2009 ho partecipato al 'Concorso Giovani Talenti, San Bartolomeo a Mare' ottenendo il secondo premio e nel 2010 al 'Concorso Internazionale Marcel Tournier' a Cosenza, vincendo il primo premio assoluto. 

Regolarmente partecipo a corsi di perfezionamento con arpisti quali Anna Loro, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche, Letizia Belmondo, Cristina Ghidotti, Gabriella dall'Olio, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Alice Giles, Sylvain Blassel, Jeffrey Dyball, Patrizia Tassini, Lucy Wakeford.

Come progetto per il corso Mentor Scheme durante questo anno ho incontrato e lavorato con Rachel Master, LPO Principal Harpist.
